We were instructed to supply and erect scaffold on a busy Tesco store, located on an inner-city high street in Bristol.

The job was to provide scaffolding to two sides of the building, creating external access to the shop roof. As this project took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, full social distancing measures applied and had to be adhered to.

This provided considerable logistical constraints, and careful consideration was taken to ensure that distancing was maintained for both the workforce and members of the public. The works were completed in this live environment while shoppers queued along the pavements on which the scaffold was being erected.

A sequential programme of works in small sections, along with the use of clear and vibrant signage, enabled us to complete this project with minimal disruption to shoppers, whilst maintaining the peace of mind of the general public and the highest standards of safety.
